When the p-n junction diode is forward biased, the width of the depletion region __________

(a) increases

(b) decreases

(c) remains Constant

(d) increases than Decreases

This question was addressed to me in unit test.

My question is taken from Power Diodes-2 in portion Diodes of Power Electronics

Right answer is (b) decreases

Easy explanation: When forward biased depletion layer decreases & finally it collapses to allow the current flow.
