In case of a C filter, if R (load resistance) is increased

(a) ripple factor is reduced

(b) ripple factor is increased

(c) ripple factor is not affected

(d) increases noise in the circuit

The question was posed to me by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

The question is from Filters-2 in portion Diode Rectifiers of Power Electronics

Right option is (a) ripple factor is reduced

Easy explanation: The time constant RC is increased therefore the ripple factor is reduced.
