Which of the following system is causal?

(a) y[n] = 2[n] – 3[n+1]

(b) y[n] = 2[n] + 3

(c) y[n] = 2[n-7] – 3[n+1]

(d) y[n] = 2[n]*3[n+1]

I got this question in my homework.

My question is taken from Properties of LTI Systems in division Time-Domain Analysis of CT Systems of Signals and Systems

The correct choice is (b) y[n] = 2[n] + 3

To explain: An LTI system is said to be causal only when its output at any time depends on the previous or present value of the input. A causal system cannot depend on the future values of the input.
