What is alpha and beta position in naphthalene series?

The question was posed to me in unit test.

Correct choice is (b) 1,5 and 1,8

The best I can explain: Naphthalene series has 2 different mononitro derivatives called alpha and beta know as 1, 5 nitronaphthalene and 1, 8 nitronapthalene.
