Two concave mirrors have the same focal length but the aperture of one is larger than that of the other. Which mirror forms the sharper image and why?

(a) Plane

(b) Concave

(c) Convex

(d) Prism

I had been asked this question by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

My query is from Reflection of Light by Spherical Mirrors in chapter Ray Optics and Optical Instruments of Physics – Class 12

The correct answer is (b) Concave

Easiest explanation: The concave mirror with a smaller aperture forms the sharper image because it is free from spherical aberration. So, even though both have the same focal length, the change of aperture affects the formation of the image.
