Which of the following compounds does not have a stereocenter?

(a) Propan-2-ol

(b) Butan-2-ol

(c) 2-Bromo-1-chlorobutane

(d) 2-Bromopentane

I have been asked this question during a job interview.

My question is taken from Haloalkanes & Haloarenes topic in section Haloalkanes and Haloarenes of Chemistry – Class 12

Right option is (a) Propan-2-ol

For explanation I would say: A stereocenter is an asymmetric carbon that has four different groups attached to it. Propan-2-ol has two methyl groups attached to the carbon.
