Identify the correct statement.

(a) Peptide bond is formed by the loss of water molecule

Right answer is (a) Peptide bond is formed by the loss of water molecule

Easy explanation: The reaction between two molecules of same of different amino acids proceeds through the linking of COOH group of one and the NH2 group of the other along with the loss of H2O and formation of a peptide bond. The product is called a dipeptide.
