Where are the ribosomes attached in rough endoplasmic reticulum?

(a) In the lumen

(b) On the folds towards the nucleus

(c) On the surface

(d) On the folds towards the cell membrane

The question was posed to me by my school teacher while I was bunking the class.

I need to ask this question from Eukaryotic Cells and it’s Organelles in division Cell : The Unit of Life of Biology – Class 11

Correct choice is (c) On the surface

The best I can explain: Endoplasmic reticulum is of two types- smooth endoplasmic reticulum and rough endoplasmic reticulum. The rough endoplasmic reticulum has ribosomes present on its outer surface.
