This question was posed to me in exam.

My question is based upon Cell Theory in section Cell : The Unit of Life of Biology – Class 11

Right choice is (d) Formation of new cells

To explain I would say: Matthias Schleiden and Theodore Schwann together formulated the cell theory. It states that living things are composed cells, that the cell is the basic unit of life, and that new cells arise from existing cells.
