The correct option is (b) Cuboidal epithelium of alveoli

The best explanation: Alveoli is made up of simple squamous epithelium. Diffusion membrane is made up of three major layers: Thin squamous epithelium of alveoli, endothelium of blood capillaries, basement substances in between them.
