The correct option is (a) cortex

To explain: The ovarian cortex has a white body or corpus albicans. It represents the degenerating corpus luteum. Corpus Luteum secretes the hormone. Progesterone during pregnancy, and the hormone relaxin towards the end of pregnancy.
