If perimeter of any rectangle is 26 cm and one of the sides measures 7 cm, then the measure of the adjacent side is?

(a) 6 m

(b) 6 cm

(c) 12 m

(d) 12 cm

I had been asked this question in final exam.

My question is based upon Kinds of Polygons in chapter Quadrilaterals of Mathematics – Class 8

Right choice is (b) 6 cm

To explain I would say: Formula for perimeter of is, Perimeter = 2 × (Length+Breadth)

Therefore 26=2 × (7+Breadth)

Therefore 26=14+2Breadth

Therefore 12=2×Breadth

Therefore Breadth=6.
