Find the area of the sector if the radius is 12 cm and with an angle of 134°.

I had been asked this question by my school teacher while I was bunking the class.

The doubt is from Area of Sector and Segment of a Circle topic in section Area Related to Circles of Mathematics – Class 10

Correct answer is (d) 168.38 cm

To explain I would say: The area of the sector = \(\frac {x^{\circ }}{360^{\circ }}\) × πr^2

= \(\frac {134^{\circ }}{360^{\circ }} \times \frac {22}{7}\) × 12^2

= 168.38 cm
