What is the role of power supply unit in ECM equipment?

The question was posed to me in an interview for internship.

I need to ask this question from ECM topic in section Electrochemical Processes of Advanced Machining

Correct choice is (c) Power supply

To explain I would say: In ECM, power supply unit is used to supply the machine current at constant dc voltage.
