What are the values of temperature that are obtained while machining using EDM?

(a) 2000 to 3000ᵒC

(b) 4000 to 6000ᵒC

(c) 8000 to 12000ᵒC

(d) 15000 to 20000ᵒC

I had been asked this question during an interview for a job.

I want to ask this question from EDM-Mechanism of Material Removal topic in chapter Thermal Processes of Advanced Machining

Correct answer is (c) 8000 to 12000ᵒC

For explanation I would say: The temperatures obtained when the ions reach their respective electrodes, range between 8000ᵒC and 12000ᵒC.
