What is the full form of STOL?

(a) Short take-off and landing

(b) Straight take-off and landing

(c) Smart take-off and landing

The question was posed to me in homework.

My enquiry is from Fixed-Wing Aircraft topic in section Fixed-Wing Aircraft Performance of Aircraft Performance

The correct answer is (a) Short take-off and landing

The best I can explain: The full form of STOL is Short take-off and landing. STOL must also be able to stop within 1,500 feet after crossing a 50-foot obstacle on landing. This kind of landing is helpful in harsh landing.
