This question was posed to me in homework.

My question is taken from Superhetrodyne Receiver in section Receivers & Transducers of Analog Communications

Correct answer is (b) False

The best I can explain: In phase modulation, the phase of the carrier signal is varied with respect to the amplitude of the message signal. For a phase modulated signal, the frequency deviation is proportional to amplitude only.
