Which of the following could be used as the layer of dielectric in interference filters used in Absorption Spectroscopy?

(b) MgF2

This question was posed to me during an interview.

My doubt is from Absorption Instrumentation and Block Diagram Representation in chapter Colorimetry and Spectrometry of Analytical Instrumentation

The correct answer is (b) MgF2

Easy explanation: MgF2 is used as layer of dielectric in interference filters. Other material that can be used is ZnS.
