How is the number of lobes on the outer rotor when compared to the inner rotor lobes in a rotor pump?

I got this question in an interview.

My question is taken from Lubrication and Lubricants topic in section Lubrication and Lubricants of Automotive Engine Design

The correct answer is (a) Less

The explanation is: In the rotor pump the outer rotor always has 1 less lobe when compared to the inner rotor wherein the extra space the oil gets compressed.
