Which among the following is provided in an edge type oil filter to remove the impurities periodically?

(a) Central knob

(b) Adjusting screw

(c) Relief valve

(d) Pilot jet

This question was posed to me in an interview for internship.

The question is from Lubrication and Lubricants topic in section Lubrication and Lubricants of Automotive Engine Design

Right option is (a) Central knob

Explanation: The oil is made to flow through the space between these discs and because of the very small spaces involved the impurities are left on the disc peripheries from where these are periodically removed by the simply operating central knob.
