What is the highest temperature experienced by the exhaust valve?

(a) 550^oC

(b) 400^oC

(c) 900^oC

(d) 750^oC

This question was posed to me by my college director while I was bunking the class.

My doubt is from Poppet Valves in chapter Valve Timing Technologies of Automotive Engine Design

Correct answer is (d) 750^oC

The best I can explain: The exhaust valve temperature in modern engines reach very high valves of the order of 750^oC and sodium is present inside the hollow stem of the valve.
