The currents in the three branches of a parallel circuit are 3A, 4A and 5A. What is the current leaving it?

(b) Insufficient data provided

(c) The largest one among the three values

(d) 12A

I have been asked this question by my college director while I was bunking the class.

My question is taken from Parallel Networks in portion Simple DC Networks of Basic Electrical Engineering

Right answer is (d) 12A

For explanation I would say: The total current leaving a node is the same as the current that enters it. Total I=I1+I2+I3=3+4+5=12A.
