In the same figure in question 2, what is ‘b’ and its function?

I had been asked this question in an online quiz.

I'd like to ask this question from Manufacture of Cement in division Materials for Construction of Basic Civil Engineering

Correct choice is (d) Gypsum-control setting

For explanation I would say: During the grinding process, small amount of gypsum is added.  It is done to control the setting of cement.
