Braking time in the dynamic braking is the function of _____________

I got this question by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

My doubt stems from Braking of DC Motors in section DC Motors of DC Machines

The correct choice is (d) All- system inertia, load torque and motor rating

Best explanation: In dynamic braking, when brakes are applied the armature is disconnected from machine circuit and connected to the braking resistor. Now, at this point motor is driven by kinetic energy gained earlier, dissipating power in braking resistor.
