Let A order(axb) and Border(cxd) be two matrices, then for AB to exist, correct relation is given by?

(a) a = d

(b) b = c

(c) a = b

(d) c = d

I got this question in an international level competition.

My question is taken from Operations on Matrices in portion Basic Structures: Sets, Functions, Sequences, Sums and Matrices of Discrete Mathematics

Right option is (b) b = c

To explain I would say: Matrix multiplication exists only when column of first matrix is same as rows of second i.e b = c.
