What material is used in pipe linings for linking of steam jet system?

(a) Nickel alloy

(b) Graphite

(c) Titanium

(d) Copper alloy

I had been asked this question during an internship interview.

I'm obligated to ask this question of Cool and Ash Handling System in chapter Steam Power Plant of Energy Engineering

The correct option is (a) Nickel alloy

Easiest explanation: The abrasive particles present in ash cause wear and tear in pipes due to high speed movement in pipes of steam jet system. Even chilled iron also can be used to line the pipes to overcome the following problem. And also avoiding bends and turns in pipes would reduce the damage of pipes.
