Which type of coal fuel is avoided in travelling grate stoker?

(a) Anthracite coal

(b) Briquette

(c) Pulverized coal

(d) Caking bituminous

The question was asked by my school teacher while I was bunking the class.

My doubt stems from Type of Stokers topic in chapter Steam Power Plant of Energy Engineering

Correct option is (d) Caking bituminous

The best explanation: Any type of fuel except caking bituminous coal can be used with travelling grate stoker because of the formation of large percentage of fines resulting in increased carbon loss. The rate of burning of fuel in this stoker is 200 to 300kg/m^2 per hour when forced draught is used.
