Correct option is (a) Minimize the coke carried into ash pit

Best explanation: The operator controls rate of burning in different zones to minimize the coke carried over to ash pit. The coal supplied to the grate is regulated either by varying depth of coal on the grate with the help of grate valve and by varying the rate of grate travel.
