The correct answer is (b) The United States

For explanation I would say: AIDS was first clinically observed in 1981 in the United States. The starting cases were a cluster of injecting drug users and homosexual men. Soon thereafter many more cases of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) and Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS) emerged in the United States.
