If the value of eccentricity is 12, then what is the name of the conic?

(a) Ellipse

(b) Hyperbola

The correct option is (b) Hyperbola

To explain: Eccentricity is defined as the ration of the distance from the focus to the distance from the directrix. It is denoted as e. If the value of eccentricity is greater than unity then the conic section is called as a hyperbola.
