My question is based upon Sections of Prisms topic in division Section of Solids of Engineering Drawing

The correct choice is (b) irregular pentagon

The explanation is: Prisms are obtained by extruding required shape up to some appreciable length so there will be same cross-section along the length perpendicular to axis. If the cutting plane is parallel to axis we get rectangle if inclined to axis the section depends on the position where it is cutting.
