What is the temperature of arc needed for arc welding?

(a) 600-1000^oC

(b) 2000-4000^oC

(c) 5000-6000^oC

(d) 6000-8000^oC

I have been asked this question in unit test.

My question is taken from Welding topic in chapter Metallurgy of Welding, Brazing and Soldering of Engineering Material & Metallurgy

Correct answer is (c) 5000-6000^oC

Easiest explanation: In the arc welding process, the heat for joining the metals is developed using an electric arc. The workpiece is melted by the arc and the electrode also melts, making the two join together. The temperature of the arc is about 5000-6000^oC.
