Correct choice is (d) They are used for evaluation

For explanation: Circular scanning devices are used for surface inspection of bore and cylinder outside diameter, angular position measurement, line following etc. Circular scanning is a solid state device that is configured as a light sensitive discretely segmented annular ring.
