What is ANOVA in statistical analysis?

I got this question in an internship interview.

My question is from Type A Evaluation of Uncertainty topic in chapter Evaluating Uncertainty in Measurement of Engineering Metrology

Correct option is (a) Analysis of variance

To elaborate: Type-A evaluation of uncertainty is evaluated by using statistical analysis of series of observations scattered around some mean value which are associated with the ANOVA or analysis of variance.
