I had been asked this question by my school teacher while I was bunking the class.

The correct choice is (b) The output current lags the voltage by 45°

Easiest explanation: As the inductive effect is more than the capacitive effect, of course the current will lag the voltage by an angle P.

P = tan^-1 (XL – XC)/R = tan^-1 (1) = 45°.
