How many divisions a line has to be made if it is given to prepare plain scale up to 7 yards?

I got this question in an internship interview.

I'd like to ask this question from Plane Scales topic in portion Scales of Engineering Drawing

Correct answer is (b) 7

To explain: Whatever the representative factor may given, we just require a number of units to divide the line in scale. Representative factor is only needed to find the length of the scale. Length of the scale = Representative fraction x Maximum length.
