Correct answer is (a) 3, 6

The best I can explain: Origin is at 1st division ending. 1st division is made to sub-divisions. From origin, it is divided into divisions on the right side. Here it is asked to measure how many divisions do 3 miles takes. It is 3 and 6 furlongs take on left of the origin. It is 6.
