A bag contains 3 red, 2 white and 4 green balls. What is the probability of drawing the second ball to be green if the first ball drawn is red? The balls are not replaced in the bag.

(a) 0.82

(b) 0.91

(c) 1.23

(d) 0.5

I got this question in unit test.

My enquiry is from Multiplication Theorem on Probability topic in division Probability of Mathematics – Class 12

Correct answer is (d) 0.5

To explain I would say: Total number of balls = 9

The probability of the first ball to be red = \(\frac {3}{9}\)

The probability of the second ball to be green without replacement = \(\frac {4}{8} = \frac {1}{2}\) = 0.5
