The correct answer is (b) rectangle of width equal to diameter of cylinder

The best I can explain: Given the cylinder is placed on V.P on its base and the section plane is parallel to H.P cutting the solid into two equal parts. In this case the side view, front view shows the section plane as line cutting the cylinder into 2 halves and show rectangle and semicircle but top view shows the rectangle of width equal to diameter of the cylinder.
