This question is from Sections of Cylinders in chapter Section of Solids of Engineering Drawing

The correct option is (d) ellipse

Best explanation: If a cylinder is been cut by plane which is inclined to base or axis if it cuts all the generator the section formed will be ellipse and if the plane cuts less than half of generators the section formed will be a parabola.
