A regular pentagonal pyramid of base side equal to 5 cm is resting on H.P on its pentagon face and section plane is perpendicular to axis. The section will be __________

(a) triangle

(b) trapezium

(c) rectangle

(d) pentagon

The correct option is (d) pentagon

The explanation: If a pyramid is cut by a plane perpendicular to its axis section gives the base shape or parallel to axis and also parallel to any edge of base then the section formed will be trapezium if the section plane not parallel to edge of base then the section will be triangle.
