The question was posed to me in an interview for internship.

My doubt stems from Sections of  Pyramids topic in chapter Section of Solids of Engineering Drawing

Correct option is (a) triangle

The explanation is: If a pyramid is cut by a plane parallel to axis and also parallel to any edge of base then the section formed will be trapezium if the section plane not parallel to edge of base then the section will be a triangle.
